Morgan Cockerham, a 36-year-old mother and yoga teacher, has lived with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy for 21 years. Her journey has been one of resilience, transformation, and empowerment. Diagnosed as a teenager, Morgan initially hid her condition through high school, grappling with shame and fear. For over a decade, she turned to substance use as a way to escape her struggles.
Everything changed when she became a mother. Determined to create a better life for her child, Morgan found the strength to embrace sobriety and face her challenges head-on. Through trial and error, she discovered the healing power of yoga, therapy, and unwavering hope. These tools helped her cultivate faith, overcome the obstacles of epilepsy, addiction, and single motherhood, and find solace in her journey.
Today, Morgan is building a platform to support others navigating life with epilepsy. Her mission is to provide the resources she wished she had at the start of her journey—tools that could make a real difference. Combining evidence-based therapies, alternative practices, and a sense of community, she aims to help others live lives full of hope, normalcy, and empowerment. Morgan's work is dedicated to equipping those with epilepsy with the confidence and resources they need to thrive, reminding them that no challenge is insurmountable when faced with courage and support.
